Big in Ethics? Adviser SRI event 13 June
June 2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the launch of the UK’s first retail ethical funds. Assets under management in funds of this kind now exceed £12 billion … a figure that is many times greater than early predictions and dwarfed by massive institutional, pension and charity support for SRI (sustainable and responsible investment).
Yet in spite of the success of this area many advisers are yet to find ways to integrate SRI and ethical options into their advice processes.
On 13 June Rayner Spencer Mills Research and sriServices will be running an event to help advisers to get started in this area. This event is free for advisers to attend thanks to sponsorship from Alliance Trust.
Attendees will hear from the authors of the new ‘RSMR/sriServices Adviser Guide to SRI’ and see which funds have made the RSMR SRI Rated Fund List.
Subjects under discussion will include the SRI market segmentation work carried out by sriServices, the RSMR fund rating system – as well as a suggested SRI advice process, tips and tools.
Commenting on the event Julia Dreblow of sriServices remarked “I am delighted to be holding this event with the Rayner Spencer Mills team. There is a diverse range of carefully constructed sustainable, responsible and ethical investment options available to investors these days yet demonstrating which funds meet the high standards required by financial advisers can be seen as challenging.
By combining the segmentation work I have done and the RSMR financial research methods we think we have come up with something really useful that will help advisers to meet both their clients financial and their ethical aims.’
