Partnership: Universal Deferred Payment Scheme

In amongst the recent Social Care White Paper and related announcements, the Government outlined its proposal to introduce a Universal Deferred Payment Scheme. At face value, it looks like an obvious answer to a specific issue regarding care fees funding, as it gives individuals with a house to sell the space to consider their future without the pressure to do so quickly.

However, in these early stages of consideration, there are still a very large number of unanswered questions. We have therefore put together the following points, designed to help explain what has been announced, what is still to be decided - and to indicate what this could ultimately means for clients.
