The added value of full underwriting

Why simplified underwriting…

                             …simply won’t do!

Taking a simplified underwriting approach to an annuity purchase, where only a few high level questions are asked, might appear to be an adequate indicator of whether an individual could qualify for an enhanced annuity or not.

However, it could well be a short cut resulting in significant retirement income being missed - one that might otherwise be achieved through a fully underwritten enhanced annuity process.

The importance of additional information

By taking some time to gather all a client’s medical and lifestyle history − using a fully underwritten enhanced annuity process − you can make a substantial difference to your client’s income, as the following examples will show:

Charles has suffered a stroke – but achieved no uplift with simplified underwriting

Find out how full underwriting could have resulted in an uplift of 29%* with our comparison between full and simplified underwriting.

Melanie suffers Diabetes – but achieved a nominal uplift of 16% with simplified underwriting

Find out how, with full underwriting, she achieved an uplift of 23%* with our comparison between full and simplified underwriting.

The easiest way to ensure your clients don’t miss out on their best possible retirement income is to always opt for a full underwriting approach by completing the Common Quotation Form – it only takes around 15 minutes but it could be the most important 15 minutes of your client’s retirement.
